About
This site is dedicated to my wildlife photography using my 300mm lens. Some may use the additional 1.4x converter, or they might be taken at the 300mm end of my zoom lens, but they are all taken with the same focal length lens.
Although I am calling them wildlife photos, some images will be of captive animals at zoos or wildlife reserves, but I don’t personally think that matters. Enjoying wildlife or zoo life is still great to do, especially as seeing some of these animals would be almost impossible if they weren’t in a zoo.
I currently use a Sony Alpha a700 DSLR with a range of lenses. For this site, these will be either the Minolta 300mm f2.8 APO G Prime lens or the Sony 70-300mm SSM G lens. I also use the Sony battery grip for the a700, a Slik Pro Monopod to help support my big lens and the Minolta 1.4x APO II teleconverter to get some extra reach with the lens.
While I am not the best at identifying animal species, I am fascinated by all animals, I enjoy seeing and watching them doing their thing in the wild and even if I don’t get a good image, just seeing something a little out of the ordinary makes it all worthwhile.
When I’m not behind the lens, I am 30 something year old web designer/developer living in the North West of England. I have been enjoying photography since 2000 but still have a lot to learn.
All of the images on this site are available to buy as prints, just contact me for further details.
